Complementing this, Christopher Roberts and Associates offers a flexible virtual training programme to support wider access and continuous professional development.

 

Additional learning opportunities may also be accessed through recognized local institutions such as The Bahamas Institute of Business & Technology (BIBT) and other accredited training providers, ensuring that prospective and serving Justices of the Peace have access to a well-rounded, accessible, and professionally aligned training framework.

Pathway to Becoming a Justice of the Peace

Justices of the Peace in The Bahamas are appointed by the Governor-General following a formal process that includes application, vetting, and review.

 

As part of this process:

  • Applicants may be required to complete relevant training

  • Applications are submitted through the appropriate authorities, including the Attorney-General’s Office

  • Background checks, such as police clearance, are required

  • Final appointments are made upon approval
